PROFILING
RICAA is collaborating on a long- and short-term
training program to Rhode Island law enforcement agencies that
participated in the collection of traffic stop data, culminating
in the Final Report of the Rhode Island Traffic Stop Statistics
Act. This report, prepared by Dean Jack McDevitt and Dr. Amy
Farrell of Northeastern University's Institute on Race and Justice,
was presented to the public by Rhode Island Attorney General
Patrick Lynch.
This program will focus on issues and best practices
to eliminate insensitivity, individual bigotry,
hatred, and discrimination when dealing with the community.
EQUITY IN ACTION: COLOR ME YOU
The Equity In Action Training Series is geared
towards providing participants with an indepth understanding
of public policy on current issues regarding discrimination,
sexual harassment, and equity in the schools and workplace.
Targeted towards students, faculty, administrators,
and parents at the middle school, high school, and college levels,
in addition to agency, business and CBO representatives, it
is a multi-media presentation with case studies, group activities,
and discussion.
